- Following on from his ‘Moss Lane East EP’ (DUSTV014), Manchester techno maverick DNCN delivers his second EP, ‘Kitchen Sink’ for Dust Science and it’s an absolute belter!
DNCN is a Manchester techno legend who has bootstrapped himself into prominence through a dazzling selection of live performances, some acclaimed releases (Phush Consumables / Hippocamp / Clever Music / Melodic), and some particularly interesting remix collaborations, most notably for Elbow and their ‘Fallen Angel’ single.
Starting his ‘Kitchen Sink EP’, ‘909it’ carries all the DNCN trademarks: deep hypnotic beats and twisting synth lines. A live favourite for a while now, this is one for the head and the floor.
Next, ‘Swiss Army Knife’ samples the rather excellent Videodrome and has a bassline to die for. This is how minimal should be done.
Finishing up is ‘Kitchener’, with its smooth, deep funked out, clicky groove. Perfect.
